found a different type of swim class--finning

Well, a couple of weeks ago, I was waiting by the swimming pool for my exercise class to begin in another part of the building when I noticed some ladies in the deep end of the pool with an instructor along the side. Being curious, I got the schedule and saw that it was a finning class. The members of the class all had fins on their feet. Ok, looked interesting so I went to talk to the instructor and found out that the class meets three times a week, no extra charge and I would be welcome to attend whenever. I would, however, need to provide my own fins because their available ones have a tendency to "walk away" (probably a better thought would be that they swam away.)
I bought some fins last evening and the store only had the short fins and today, I found out that they were too short, so I returned them.
Well, the instructor told me that they were the wrong kind and before I attend the next class, I will need to find a set that meets the criteria the swim instructor gave me.I had fun in class and looked scared, so I could tell that the lifeguard and instructor and my assigned member stayed pretty close. I didn't have fins on before and they gave me instructions to keep my legs straight and I found that when I did that, my toes yoga flexed. Ok, that works for me.
I got tired before the end of the 40 minute class and left early, but I like what there is to offer. We practiced different strokes and different speeds. I want to improve my swimming skills and this is the way to do it, I think.
I bought a new swim suit as well, my old ones I've worn beyond their use. Vainly the fins that I returned today matched the swim suit...lol.
