In a good way of course!!!
After having had day surgery four days ago and being told to take it easy for a few weeks, I was terrified I would lose the momentum I have built up the last three weeks on Spark People. I have lost 6 lbs and feel really encouraged about living a healthier lifestyle. I decided that instead of not walking at all I would dial it back to 10 minutes every day or so on the treadmill instead the 30 minutes or an hour I have been doing. Mostly to ensure I don't break my new healthy habit.
Last night I was laying in bed and around 10:30 pm I realized I was going to loose my exercise Spark Streak because I hadn't exercised. Not even my 10 short minutes on the treadmill. I said in a defeated tone to my husband "I guess I'm going to lose my exercise Spark Streak". He assured me that under my current circumstances it was sad but ok. I lay there on my smartphone, reading SP blogs and articles for a few more minutes then exclaimed "I'm going to do my 10 minutes on the treadmill!!!".
The moral of the story is, no matter how cheesy the Spark Streaks, Spark Points and Trophies may have seemed to me in the beginning - they got me hooked!!!
Something here is working AND I still have my exercise Spark Streak for one more day!!!
