Cowtown Challenge
Tuesday, March 01, 2016
This weekend, I participated in the cowtown challenge in Fort Worth, Texas. The challenge is to participate in one short distance race on Saturday as well as one long distance race on Sunday. I did the 5K on Saturday (3.1 miles) and the Half Marathon on Sunday (13.1) miles. I went with some friends and had a "funrable" time. Funrable= Fun + Miserable.

It was a bucket list item and I'm so glad it's over. haha We took it very easy for the 5k, nobody was trying anything crazy that day. haha Both days were great weather, although Sunday was a bit too windy for my liking. I had some foot pain starting at mile 5, but other than that, it was a great run for me. I took off 10 min from my last half, so I'm pretty pleased with that. I'm hoping to get my foot problem taken care of soon. I'd like to do the Shiner Half this fall! I think I'll look into working with a running coach. I'm pretty positive, I don't have good running form and that's leading to my foot pain. The good news is, my plantar fictitious only flared up once, so I think I've got a good handle on that.
Lots of stretching for the next few days and another appointment with the Airrosti doctor, and I think I'll be ready for a nice slow 2-3 miles on Saturday morning with my running group!
