HELLUARY - I mean February is finally OVER!!!
Monday, February 29, 2016
I can now officially do the *happy dance* since this is the last day in February... Happy Leap Day!! Sorry for my disappearing act, but I knew it was going to happen. February was internal audit month at my place of work, and since we are so short staffed, we didn't get the usual 4-5 auditors coming in and spending a week doing auditing, we got 2 auditors to audit for 3 weeks!!! It was intense and brutal with 10-12 hour days of going non-stop. By the time I got home from work, I was so mentally drained that all I wanted to do was climb into bed. So physical activity took a nose dive, and so did eating habits since my eating out increased due to being too tired to cook. I did manage to get exercise in during the weekends, but February was not good to me. I feared I had put on every bit of weight I had lost in January, but as I nervously climbed on the scale Sunday morning, I was relieved to only see a two pounds weight gain. Any weight gain is not good, but I will take it as it should take no longer than a week or two to get it back off.
As for my 2016 miles in 2016... I am on target for my team relay portion of 504 miles for the year. I did 70 miles in January anticipating the drop off in activity for February. To stay on target for this goal, I only need to run 42 miles a month. I am currently at 98.25 miles, so I am 14 miles ahead of the game. However, I am behind on my personal step goal of doing 2016 miles (in daily steps) in 2016. I am currently at 299.76 miles. This goal, I need to step an average of 168 miles a month, and where I am at right now, I am about 36.24 miles behind goal. Not terribly behind, but if I get any further behind, it will be near impossible to catch up since I need to step an average of 5.5 miles per day. **fingers crossed** for catching up. I still have today to narrow the gap in steps and I have a walk and a run planned.
My son celebrated his 16th birthday this past Friday. He didn't want a birthday party, he just wanted something simple and low key. So we played hooky on Friday and went to the art museums in Uptown Charlotte. It was a nice day, that we both enjoyed. On top of his presents, we went and got phone upgrades too, so he is all set up with the new iPhone 6s. I felt a little bad that I didn't get him a car (two of his friends got cars for their 16th birthday), but he still has 6 months with his learners permit, so I feel I have some time to get one yet.
That's all I have for now... have lots of catching up to do at work today, so I better run. But I plan to post in my teams soon!
Have a great week!
