Easy does it

In preparation for the wonder of Whiskey Hill and its "lesser" brethren on April 2nd, I've decided to up my game a bit by incorporating some more easy miles into my routine and last night was my first attempt at doing that very thing.
Running in the dark by streetlight was both terrifying and exhilarating... I mean that's pretty much what I've been doing when I've gone out in the wee hours of the morning, but perhaps it's something about it being AFTER everything else in a day that makes it so different.
In keeping with the spirit of this new venture, I knew I had to keep my effort easy, but I felt like I was going fast even when my watch said otherwise. Without music to dull my senses, I felt like my awareness was up and with the chill of the night air... it was just a thing of beauty.
Now having said that... my legs and such were a little put off at me this morning when I first popped out of bed this morning (my body was ready to go, but my brain needed some convincing), but they seemed to cool it after a short easy ride on my trainer. Since that time my legs have felt incredible.
Seeing the photos from last weekend's half... it's funny. I am both disappointed but proud. Reckon I'm just a walking contradiction some days....
