Select an exercise plan.
This chapter goes into great detail on the benefits of exercise and how to become motivated to exercise and fight any sabotaging thoughts about exercise.
My ONLY problem with exercise is that I usually do too much!
I'm a very active person in a very wimpy body!
So I usually overdo exercise, push myself too far, and suffer pain and debility as a result.
I am newly recovered from a 3 - 4 month period of horrible pain and such debility that I was unable to walk from room to room except very slowly and painfully. I have NO cartilage in my right hip and there is a Total Hip Replacement (THR) in my future.
My ortho doctor and my PT both are amazed that I walk now with no pain and no cane. Once the inflammation heals, I seem to be rid of the pain and weakness. My otherwise healthy body recovers. This was my second flare-up. I did the same thing 6 years ago. And recovered in the same way.
SO. I am currently able to ride my recumbent bike for 30 minutes each day and walk a mile, sometimes two, but not on the same day.
Sadly, I have not been able to go back to Line Dancing yet, which is THE most enjoyable aerobic exercise I've ever done. (Six months of 7 to 8 hrs a week of line dance is what "blew my hip out," as I say.)
Exercising daily is no problem for me. I have to exert great restraint in not overdoing this wonderful activity. Aerobic activity is what I love most!
