Vision Board & Ultimate Sparkpeople Life Challenge 3/49

Thursday, February 18, 2016

Not sure if you have seen SparkGuy's recent posts, but he is doing a challenge to do 200 blog posts this year. Today is day 49 out of the year and this is my 3rd post, so even though I'm a little late in joining this challenge, it is still reachable.

On to today's post about my Vision Board. I've never been big on vision boards. I have always understood the idea behind them, but never been willing to make something permanent in my home regarding my dreams and vision for my life. I guess I've just lacked a focus. I've always either been with a boyfriend or had a husband and just floated along with whatever he wanted to do. I realized something yesterday when reading someone else's blog...it's MY vision board. I can make it whatever I want it to be. It doesn't have to be focused on one area of my life. It can be a vision for my life and what I want. I've never actually focused on me. Since leaving my husband in November, I'm learning who I am, what I like and what I want to do with my life. It's no longer shared dreams and goals, it's 100% about me now. I want to get healthy. I want to travel and have fun. I want to reach out to friends and family who live far away and visit them. Now I can!

Yesterday I looked through my iCloud photos to print 2 things. 1) a picture of me with my grandmother when I was near what I'd like my goal weight to be. And 2) a picture of some yoga poses I'd love to be able to accomplish. I then searched Pinterest for "30 day challenge" and found an exercise challenge for the next 30 days. I printed all 3 things out and took them home to begin my vision board.

My plan is to find 5 things per week that I'd like to add to my vision board. I will also do a different 30 day challenge every time I finish one. A few things I'll print for the future include new foods I'd like to try. More difficult poses I'd like to accomplish. Places I'd like to travel. Things I'm saving up for, etc.
