Been working on reversing this. And suddenly I realized that it sounds much more terrifying to say I am insulin resistant, which is what pre-diabetes is. My body is already not functioning properly now. They should say this. The doctors. "Pre-" makes it sounds like it's not real. But it's very real. I'm too close to the line and to jeopardizing my health even further. Have to move on this.

These replies are encouraging. Type II is something I am afraid of and part of the reason I am here. Thanks for posting, let's beat this and make better choices what we put in our bodies.

Happy Valentine's Day. Love yourself first. emoticon

I'm in the same situation. My last check up found my blood sugar at 118 and 126 is diabetes. Listen to the lectures of Richard Bernstein M.D. on YouTube. I loved his book "The Diabetes Solution." He has had Type 1 diabetes since he has been 12 and was told he wouldn't live past 42 from complications, but he is a healthy 80 now. 95% of his patients have Type 2 diabetes. He follows a low carb diet. He believes in exercise.

i hope you're finding your way. my brother started eating very low carb, and he's reduced his diabetes meds from 4/day to 1/day. if he keeps going, he may get off them completely.

Just keep working on it, one day at a time. For me, eating low carb and doing high intensity interval training and strength training has so far kept me out of diabetes, but it scares me all the time. I feel for you! Just keep going! You can do this!

You can definitely reverse this with diet and exercise. You're already on the right path.
