Week 3 (sort of)

Last Wednesday started Week 3 of the meal replacement shakes, however, I ran out of the powder last Monday, so have gone 7 days without the shake (the delivery is coming in today). DD#2 & #3 were also making a smoothie in the morning, so it didn't last as long and I waited until the last minute because my last order came in 2 days. Apparently they had a back log (which was noted on the website) and it took longer.

Anyway, I continued to count calories and exercise so we'll see how it goes. I stayed under the calorie count all week except for Super Bowl Sunday. I only went about 200 calories over, but "gained" 2 lbs. on Monday. Now I know I didn't eat 7,000 extra calories and my "official" weekly weigh-in is tomorrow, so I just ignored it (happy to say I weighed this morning and the 2 lbs. are gone). I must say I stayed full longer and had more energy with the shakes, so I'm looking forward to starting back tomorrow with a morning and afternoon shake!

I also had a pretty good streak of exercise and steps. I went 6 days straight of 30 mins. or more of exercise a day (mostly walking/jogging and strenuous hikes). I even walked/jogged 4.2 miles on Saturday because DD#2 decided she wanted to run a 10K! I "blew" that on Sunday because I felt like being a "slug". I started again yesterday walking 2.2 miles in the bitter cold wind.

I also got back my health screening results and they were pretty good. They screen: HDL Cholesterol, Triglycerides, blood pressure, glucose, Waist Circumference, Total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and Ratio of Total cholesterol to HDLC (pretty thorough). I'm happy to report that everything was normal except for HDL Cholesterol which was a little low (47 and it should be higher than 50) Everything else was better than last year and I was really thrilled that my waist circumference was "normal"!

DD#2 is doing pretty good. So far she's lost about 12 lbs. and 8 inches (which is probably more because she finally let me measure her just last week). She's slipped a little the past couple of days and I've tried not to nag at her (but I have). I just don't want her to give up. The good news is she's really trying to eat better and is more conscious of her nutrition.

We're going prom dress shopping again this weekend. She was really disappointed when we went a couple of weeks ago and dresses weren't fitting (especially when her friends and DD#3 can wear all the cute dresses). DD#2 is tall with long arms, long legs and a long torso so it's always been hard to find her a dress. When we find the right fit - she looks gorgeous (she's a very striking blonde). Hopefully with the inches lost, she'll find something she likes. We'll probably have to get a couple of sizes too big anyway and have it altered because the larger sizes measure longer.

Tomorrow is "official weigh in day", so I'll post the results.

    What kind of shakes are you drinking? Do they have a web site that tells you how to transition back to food for all meals once you reach your goal? Good luck!
