I'll admit it...

I had it all planned out. This past Sunday, Super Bowl Sunday, was going to be my free cheat day. I had visions of spinach dip & pumpernickel bread & ooey, gooey cake slices as big as my hand dancing in my head! Rumchata was going to be my adult beverage of choice for the evening. I was going to throw all caution to the wind & go for it in a big way!

Now here's what really happened. We attended the funeral of the father of a friend of mine mid afternoon. On the way home, stopping for dinner seemed like a good idea only the 3 rest restaurants we stopped at were closed because of the Super Bowl. So KFC take out (grilled of course) became dinner. I'm not even fond of KFC on a good day, let alone my cheat day. By this time I was tired, crabby and disappointed my food day wasn't working out as planned.
As the game started, I realized I hadn't bought any of the above treats to eat so the Rumchata I did have wasn't quite so appealing. So water & baked lays were the snack of the night.

So I learned that sometime when things go wrong, they are actually going right! And the next time I get the idea to have a big cheat day and it doesn't work out as planned that it actually a blessing in disguise. And you know what? I didn't even miss those snacks... And I enjoyed the game just as much without gorging myself on junk!

What a WIN! Your last paragraph says it all...and none of the "I shouldn't have.." guilt the next day! Well Done, Liz.

I distinctly remember one day on this journey years ago deciding I was going to be BAD. I was going to eat like a fat girl. So I scoured the pantry and the fridge and all I could find to 'cheat' with was a single serving box of Lucky Charms lol. Blessings in disguise for sure!
