My weight continues to stay in the 160's. As soon as it goes down, it goes right back up. YES!! VERY FRUSTRATING!!! But oh well. I really can't let that number thing get to me. Why am I so relaxed now about my steady weight? I use a measuring tape also. I've learned to measure my successes in different ways. "How am I feeling today?", "How are my clothes fitting today?", "How do I feel when I look at myself in the mirror?"
I have seen so many changes in the last 6 months. It's been almost 5 months since I joined the gym. Seems like I've been going for years. I'm getting comfortable with being in the gym & working my routines. I didn't go to the gym for probably 2 weeks. Too many time consuming obstacles. But I went today. I didn't do my normal 30 minute glutekicker routine, just 11 min to warm up and then did some weights. I also have been doing a lot of Jessica Smith cardio & strength training. I just got her 10,000 Steps Walk On 5 Fat Burning Miles DVD. OMGosh! I love it! I do the intermediate, Jessica's level, & have completed all at once the entire video 4 times.
Now, like I said...I've seen a lot of changes. 6" off my waist alone. I've lost 20 lbs, and in the last 3 months, lost an inch off my lower belly. (now there's a trouble spot). So I won't get distraught that my weight doesn't want to go down, I'm seeing a lot more developed muscle, and a lot less FAT.
What do I hope you get out of this blog? That you see how you can measure your successes without the scale. Look at your actual accomplishments. Hard work and dedication pay off in the long run. Look at what you're learning here on SparkPeople. You're learning how to track your foods, different ways to prepare your foods, and how to become more accountable for your results. Remember, we're all here for support, motivation and to learn. If we didn't need the help, we wouldn't be here.
