Week 2 of Meal Replacement Shakes

Week 2 went pretty well. I lost .8 lb. I was hoping for at least 1 lb, but I'll still take it! I also lost an additional 3 inches, so in 2 weeks it's 5.8 lbs. and 7 inches. Not bad!

I feel pretty good too. I have more energy and am not as "sleepy" as I was before. Part of that is I'm coming off some medication I've been taking for over a year for peri/menopause. I'm hoping to be completely off in a couple of months and only taking the natural supplements. This might also help with the weight loss.

I've also upped the activity. I've been wearing the pedometer and trying to get 10,000 steps a day. That's pretty impossible because of my sedentary job, but I'm trying. I averaged about 7,900 steps a day last week. The lowest day was 3,800 and the highest was 10,576.

I achieved the over 10K steps by doing a 3 mile hike on Monday. DH and I went to the new trails at one of our county parks (we are blessed to live in a county that has a lot of great parks with every imaginable activity - actually the "most healthy" county in Georgia). The trail went straight up the mountain! It was really hard! We were planning to do a "loop" but took the wrong turn and had to go up and then back down (which still some how managed to have an incline). We would have liked to have kept going, but it was getting dark. Picture of trail below.

It's really raining today, so I'm going to do one of the workout DVD's and get in some strength training, something I always seem to omit.

DD#2 is doing pretty good too. She's kind of sporadic with the weighing and she finally let me measure her. I don't know about inches lost yet, but she has lost about 10 lbs. The really good news is she's being accountable and making better choices. She worked a lot last week and is scheduled more this week (part time at Wendy's), so her exercise has tapered off. I try not to "nag" and continue to let her do this on her own. The best thing I can do is continue to do "my thing" and set a good example.

I had my health assessment this morning for DH's work health insurance. My blood pressure was good (actually low, but that's normal for me and it was early with no coffee), my circumference was in the "normal" range - Yay! - it was high last year. I'll get the blood test results in a couple of days and will be able to compare with the last 4 years.

All in all, feeling pretty good!
