Enjoying my day

It may be overcast outside, but I'm actually enjoying my day. It's not too cold, and I have my window open so getting some of the fresh air. I got an extra hour or so of sleep, it would have been more but the dogs and cats instinctively know when 5.30am comes around, so although the alarm was turned off, we had a canine chorus letting us know it was time for them to go out, and the great grandcat mewing and pawing at us for her breakfast. After letting the hounds out, and bringing them back in again 10 minutes later, I settled back down for that extra hour snooze, hubby gently snoring alongside me.
He wouldn't have been home except that my granddaughter's workplace keeps scheduling her at hours that they know she has no way to get there, and it's a good 4 miles away from us. In England, it wouldn't be a problem, just a long hike, but here, no sidewalks and heavily traveled somewhat narrow roads, it's a lethal combination, so hubby said he'd take a few hours vacation and go in late, so that he could drop her off. After working 8 days straight and getting 26 hours overtime on the weekend, his body needed that extra sleep in time anyway. So it worked out all around.
I've been working my AVON this morning, helping customers and team members, networking with some other home biz owners, and also listening to a 3 hour business growth call, that I am taking a break from. It is an awesome call, but I've listened to just over half hour of it and it's taken me an hour, because I am writing so many notes! The lady speaker is awesome, very down to earth, but my brain is fried from all the info and trying to get it down. LOL. Lunchtime came around, my tummy was rumbling, and it was def time for me to take a break
Lunch, I have been "cheating" by using Lean Cuisine meals, since they are easy to heat and keep track of, but my body needs MORE food than is in that small tray, and I've found the perfect remedy. It means fixing them slightly different to how they say on the pack, but it's not difficult at all. My fave is the Teriyaki Chicken. I add a portion of green bueans or diced carrots and peas to each meal. I start by loosening the cover and putting the extra veggies on top. Then I lay the cover back over the top and microwave for 2 minutes. I then take the cover back and mix the food with a fork, turning the saucier areas over the less sauced, until everything is universally covered in the sauce. I pop the cover back across and microwave for another 2 minutes, re stir, take the cover off, re-microwave for 30 seconds more and then let it sit about a minute. Sometimes I add some WATKINS chipotle chili pepper, garlic and ginger to it during the 2nd stir, spices it up just a wee bit. I'm adding maybe an extra 50 calories BUT also adding what feels like a lot more food, and extra fiber, so I feel pretty good about it.
I have 2 more hours left to work, and then I have to shower to head out and pick up my granddaughter to do some running about that she needs to do, and to take our recycles to the dump. We took them yesterday, to where they used to have collection bins, and nope, everything was gone
Have a great day, my friends. Make it count!
