Pushing through even when it seems impossible!

Yesterday I had a 9 mile run on my plate. I couldn't have asked for a better day for it! Sunny and 70's on January 31st, are you kidding me?? My friend, Tanya, and I went to the country for this particular run. This was her time running the bottom, but I have put many miles on these roads. We did a 2 mile out and back, pushing past the discomfort the hills brought. We took a potty break before we headed in the opposite direction for the remaining 7 miles. I didn't hide the fact that I was really not feeling this run. I didn't not hold back when I complained about the multiple hills. I told her to go ahead the couple of times I just chose to take an extra walk break.
One short month back into running and I have gone from 1 mile to 9 miles really quickly to stay on task and be ready for my goal of running a marathon on April 30th. Tanya encouraged me, told me how awesome I was doing. Reminding me that I have come a long way really fast and rebounded. I wasn't feeling this run, I could have just turned off the interval timer and walked that last 2 miles. Could have chosen to walk up the hills instead of digging deep and pushing through and running them.
This wasn't a fast run, some may even laugh at the 13 minute mile. Some would have been home on the couch. Many probably were sitting at a table eating a hefty Sunday dinner. I was out running, my pace, but running! My struggles are real, but I still get out and fight to work past them. I have been on this journey since 2008 and while it is not perfect, it is my journey. Some days it may be hard, some days it may hurt, but those days are what make those awesome days ever better!!
If you read this, thank you. This is more for me, but sharing is always beneficial to at least one person who is struggling or had that one bad experience and is looking to find the positive. Have a wonderful week and keep the faith! Your race, your pace, it's all about the faith!
