Last night we knew my dad had become very anxious and was being given an anti-anxiety med to help. The prayers of many were being said that he would find peace in God and pass quietly in his sleep. Those prayers were answered. By early morning he was no longer restless and about 11 this morning he was gone. Made for some fun times in worship trying not to be too much of a distraction for those around us, but I had to leave to take a call from hospice and then we were texting family members with the update and when the second call came from hospice we were sure he had passed. Found a good moment to let the pastor know what was happening and then we left. At least now the church family knows what was going on as we were in tears, etc.
We honored his memory by having lunch at his favorite restaurant and sharing memories. I think it will hit the kids hard again on Saturday when the routine of going to visit grandpa is no longer there. They've done this for over six years!
I will go visit the funeral director tomorrow afternoon once co-op is over and finish up the final details. Thankfully the bulk of that was done many years ago. We will go over Tuesday morning and clean out dad's room and get that done. Bye, Bye room #13.
This afternoon we enjoyed the silliness of "Hotel Transylvania" and just being together.
Tomorrow life continues. Co-op and all that comes with that.
