Can't Make It Private?

Sunday, January 31, 2016

Read Chris the Sparkguy's blog today..it said make goals..make a collage..take pictures..really think about why you are doing this...

So...I thought..I should try to start blogging again...but I would like it to be private...however, I can't see how to do that (I know there's a box somewhere, just can't see it)...Why do I want it to be private? Because I've been slacking and faking!

I come to SP everyday...some days I log food (although I do really try to keep healthful eating in mind)..some days I don't...I don't make time for exercise...I quit wearing my pedometer...

So why am I doing (or not doing) this? I want to be healthy...I want to feel better...I want to look better...

So I'm going to have to do something!!!!! It's like the fitness videos I've bought...you can't just buy them, you have to actually use them! hmmmm............

I saw on fb a meme...Can January be my trial month?

Starting now, starting today...have my pedometer on. I am not going to commit to anything that I know I will not do...I will make 100 more steps every day! I am going to do my best to get to 8 glasses of water (but will make 4 an absolute must)...I will try for 5 servings of fruits and veggies every day (but will make 3 an absolute must)

Here I go again....

So, a week later...I did great with my steps. Water and veggies not quite...I averaged 3 waters/day and 3 fruits/veggies. I will continue to keep a close eye on those. All in all, happy!

Hey Laurie! Here is the link to the spot to journal privately. I do daily journaling there and then when I want to post a blog for everyone to be able to see, that's when I go to the area on my sparkpage. It used to be accessible from the website, but then they changed it for some reason.

    Here's the link = http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/

Sometimes, a person just wants some time and space to sort stuff out privately before you share it with the world, I totally understand that. If there is anything else I can do to help, please don't hesitate to let me know...

You will meet your goals, you can do it!! Every healthy choice you make is a step in the right direction, even the very tiniest ones. Make sure to congratulate yourself when you stave off temptation and make those healthy choices. The more of them you make, the more of them you will want to make!

LAURIE, you sound like me, hee hee. On my AMC team they posted "31 Days to Unbreakable Resolutions". Some of the first things were to set your goals, but remember to make them reasonable! So instead of say "I'm Gonna loose 100 lbs by the end of the year" say "I'll lose 10 pounds in the 8 weeks". The other big thing I found was NOT beating myself up for "failing" that day or whatever word you want to use. Stand back up, shake it off, and start RIGHT there to do better! Don't put it off to tomorrow! If you didn't reach your goals you set, no worries.

I have to say, I picked 8 weeks because I'm doing the 5% Winter Challenge. I figured how much I would like to lose at the end... being reasonable... and put a 1/2 way point in there too. WELL, I just recently found out our scale was bad! I was so happy thinking I was losing... the scale died.... got a new scale and I was up 10 POUNDS! 10!!! I was SO depressed!!! My 1/2 mark is this coming friday. I will not hit that weight I wanted and THOUGHT I could do. It was hard for me to keep pushing myself and keep going. BUT I did it and I'm still sad, but still have faith I can do this, and the weight I do lose, is better then nothing... or gaining. So I'm happy with that.

I do "fall" down here and there, but getting back up is what counts! I feel you can do this... we CAN do this! Just hang in there and if you need any help, just stop by and we can help each other! BEST OF LUCK Laurie!!! Keep your head up and keep moving forward!

Last thought... I'm not someone to tell anyone my weight, but they say it's good to post your goals where others can see. This helps you to make that number go down! On the 5% Winter Challenge, you have to post your weight... I think that helps me. I also posted it on my AMC team. We are all doing this together. No one has made fun of me on SP for my weight... and it helps me to be honest and have it there posted (wink)

The 1st step is always the hardest. Congrats on making that step. Maybe not being able to make your blog private is a blessing in disguise. Putting it out there for others to see will help you be accountable. Awesome goals. YOU GOT THUS!!!
