New Fitness Class! My lil Joey update! I found some money! Landed 2 new jobs!

Saturday, January 30, 2016

When I came into 2016, I'd hoped to finally have a break in my mommy Joey routine. We've spent the last few years at home. He had part-time pre-school but I dropped him from the program once he wasn't being moved forward due to not potty training. I just wanted things to finally be different. My age keeps popping up in my head as if I'm seriously feeling like I'm missing out on living. Being a stay at home parent can weigh on you psychologically.

I went to a school fair this past week. It was great. Every public and private opportunity rep was there to discuss options. When I was young, we didn't have those. I just went to public school. I hated it. I made good grades but I learned nothing. I had bad teachers who didn't care. I had horrible horrible bullies. The older Joey gets, the more worried I become of what he might encounter and I stood in that huge room full of opportunity and realized we could shake things up a bit. I met two lovely women who have convinced me that a K4 Homeschool program is going to be the way to go. Its aligned with our ideals. Its clasically centered learning which I find so fascinating. He might learn more at 4, then I knew at 10. I will also get awesome training which I plan to stuff into my resume. He will also get a tutor and we have access to a community of great people and we'll spend lots of time with them and he'll be busy with activities outside school as well. Lastly I don't have to worry anymore about him being potty trained on a schedule. He can finally decide when he is ready and this is a huge relief for me. I feel good about it. Now I just will need to raise the funds to pay for it.

Speaking of funds, I have come across some opportunities for myself this year. Through the Summer, I'm going to be working two jobs. Well, hopefully I will. One is still up in the air. I'm waiting to hear back from the supervisor about pay and hours. One is merchandising and the other is banquet serving. I'll be serving at the Hilton Desoto for the upcoming wedding/tourist season. I absolutely love this work. Mostly because I'm nosy. I get to serve at weddings and eat great food. I never got invited to parties or weddings in school or out of school. So many friends I knew from school never invited me so now I work at them for enjoyment. LOL. I'm excited! The pay should be good too. The other job is a merchandising one and I'm hoping things will work out. I lined up care for Joey during the week with a young lady and mom who's got years of experience in child care. I really like her a lot so I hope things do work out.

I spent Thursday at a Kmart that was closing down. I looked for product opportunities that I might be able to send into my Amazon business. I don't know how I got so lucky but I purchsed $500 in closeout products and my projected profits will be $700. I'm very excited about this!

Also I was at a local burger joint when I found out about a new dance class opportunity I want to try out at the Y. Its called Mixxed Fit. It looks fun. Between that and getting steps in doing home workouts and hopefully signing up for Les Mills on demand, I should have some kind of exercise routine to do everyday.

That's all for now. Its beautiful weather here in GA. We are going out tonight for dinner.

I understand how you feel about being a homemaker. It's nice to go to work and have people appreciate what you do. At home, half your job is unappreciated. I'm thrilled for you that you found a solution that will work for you and Joey.

    Good luck with the jobs!

Education has changed a lot with the improvements of technology, but kids still need to learn how to be kids so don't forget to add recess to your home schooling program emoticon
