First time having oatmeal

Yesterday was my first time having Oats .. That did not go well! I got the basic plain , and added some barries ! But for some reason I couldn't even eat more that 3-4 bites . the taste was not good at all while it's hot and warm . I figured maybe if it's cold it'll taste better . I had it in the fridge . 10 to 15 mins after I ended up in the bathroom throwing up with a stomach ach . I don't know what is it Or why it happened . just never trying it again ... Like ever ..

    I like oatmeal. It took me a while to get used to eating it without sugar. I do not like it prepared with milk. But, it's something that is not for everyone. Most people cringe when I mention oatmeal. I'm from the south so everyone I know is in to grits.

    I'm sorry it made you sick. I dont like plain varieties much at all either and stick to instant. It is such a good carb with fiber that it would be worth to try flavored types. Wal-Mart has many flavors that come in a box of 10 for $1.68

    I agree that it may just not be a food for you. Many people do not like it. Take care of yourself.

    I used to hate oatmeal, but now I make it with berries and usually some brown sugar or evaporated cane sugar. I do like it way overcooked though so it is soft and mushy, I cook it for about 1/2 to 3/4 hour with more water then they say!

    I put some jam into it. Not my fav either. I find it very good added to smoothies though. Not cooked,just mix it in raw

    And I finish it with a packet of Stevia in the Raw. Since oats make me sick sometimes though, I've switched then with brown rice and do the same thing with the peanut butter and the Stevia and I like it just as much... Good Carbs

    I LOVE oatmeal but if i eat it I run the risk of getting fairly vicious diarrhea. When I make oatmeal, I use 1/2 cup of the quick 1-minute oats and I add the water and microwave it until it's the thickness I like, then I put in 1 TBSP of creamy PB
