Day three of my water gastric band
Friday, January 29, 2016
Today I bought some small bowls and plates so I could portion out my meals better (smaller portions). I also started using a teaspoon to eat with. So far drinking the water before and during my meal has helped me to eat much less. I had lunch and dinner using my small bowl and teaspoon and savoured every mouthful. I am feeling very positive so far and not in the least bit hungry.
My blood sugars have been a lot more even over the last few days as well. I am hoping that things keep going along as well as they have been. It may mean I can save a lot of money and avoid surgery by not needing an actual gastric band if I can control my eating this way.
When I get an emotional need to eat but am not really hungry I chew gum which solves the problem for me. If my stomach is actually rumbling and complaining that it is hungry I know I can have something small by using my small bowl and spoon and drinking water before and during eating. I think that knowing I can always eat something as long as I stick to my strategies makes the difference. My mind isn't panicking about not having enough to eat.
