Returning to swimming

The original Y that I was a member of has had some adventurous times, and for the past few years there as been a conflict between the members and establishment over whether this y was going to stay open. This was the last urban y in the surrounding neighborhoods and once the members buckled down and got the churches backing them, the y backed down and said, ok, we will stay open, but some members doubted that it would happen.
The heart of the y was it's swimming pool, and after the last administrator left there was a feeling that the small y would lock their door one night and not open it the next morning. The part time guards did their best but pool hours got reduced when the guards had medical issues or moved.
The y was a ghost town sometimes.
I started the yoga and other classes and got away from the swimming. This week, I said ok, back to the swimming pool. One of the issues is that there is some drama going on with the scheduling of the yoga classes and 17 members met with the other administrator of a different y. Trust me, I'm not a revolutionist, I want programming and I'm willing to drive a perimeter of miles to have them met. I don't want the drama.
Nicely, this week the original y hired a full time guard t replace a bunch of part timers, some who were my friends, and although I will miss them, the new move seems to provide stability in the pool scheduling.
I was happy to be back in the pool.
Best to you
