2016: Day 27 Day of Remembrance, Prayer and Caution

Wednesday, January 27, 2016

Today: 8,244 steps and 3.11 miles. Under goal, but I may need to adjust my goal. Increasingly tired every day and fatigue makes falling ever more a possibility. I left work exhausted and decided not to try to make the 10K steps.

But, life is full of more than my fitness journey. A friend had a bad fall, wrecking her recently repaired knee. Another friend is having surgery for cancer and cataracts. My walking buddy at work left early today, just as we were about to walk. Her mother may have died. I won't hear for a while. In her religious observances, she will be offline and in seclusion until a certain day after the funeral. It may be a health scare (mom is elderly, has dementia and has fought a decades-long battle against MS), but I pray for Linda, her family and her mom's caregivers.

I am not, to my knowledge, Jewish, but today is the day of Shoah, of the international day of remembrance of the catastrophe of WWII. I have friends whose families were torn apart by those acts of murder and hatred. Had I realized this is the anniversary earlier in the day, I would have made it a day of fasting and prayer. I know I am partially of German/Prussian descent, but that's as much as I can find so far.

I pray.

Your health certainly is more important than a step challenge, do take care of yourself! Try to get better/more sleep.. Your heavy workload is burning you out :-(
Sorry to hear about all your friend's trials :-(
