Day 391

Tuesday, January 26, 2016

emoticon What a workout this morning! Jillian Michaels is kicking my tail! I still can't do two of the exercises, but I do step-out jacks or marching in place while she does them. So that is 3k of my steps for the day, now to work on the other 4k (goal 7k steps!), must keep moving!

emoticon Had an anxiety attack last night. I have not had one in quite a while, and it was a doozy. I was worn out afterwards. Overall my anxiety has been getting better, I've been able to do more and plan more. I'm not going to think of this as a setback, I'm thinking of it as a small bump in the road, a hiccup, nothing more. I know I will hit these small bumps in the road every now and then and as long as I don't blow them out of proportion they will remain just that, bumps in the road. No making a mountain out of a molehill.

emoticon Need to go grocery shopping, but the deep freeze out in the garage is full to busting. Ever do that? I'm sure half of it is freezer burned. I need to stop and take inventory before I go grocery shopping, but there are a few small things that we need that won't wait. So a small trip today and then we'll take inventory and clean out the freezer and make a list of what we truly need.

emoticon I've been on a cleaning spree, and am still going, hoping my momentum lasts. I cleaned out the cabinet of canned goods and boxed goods. I found stuff from when we first moved here in 2012 all the way in the back! No wonder the cabinet was so full! Today I think I'll move on to the bathroom and clean out the cabinets under the sink and then deep clean the bathrooms!

emoticon I've been being lazy. No really, I was before just here recently. When DH comes home from work he just wants to relax and recuperate from his day. I understand that. But part of me was like, well he's not working so I don't have to either. And I would be lazy for the rest of the day. But the truth is, I take 'me time' first thing in the morning before I workout and I take a break in the middle of the day. After the kids school is the best time for me to clean and get stuff done around the house. And I'll admit, my house is less than magazine quality, emoticon Okay, it's a wreck, I'll admit. I have a lot of work to do decluttering, and I'm going to start using that time after school (and small cleaning breaks during school) from now on. I don't want a picture perfect house, I just want it to be clean to my standards and right now it is not.

I find that with homeschooling, the house goes through quite an accordion effect - junk everywhere, books, toys, manipulatives, to-do piles, mail clutter, then I'll get fed up with the clutter and take some time off from lessons to just get organized, and it begins again. The thing is, if we've used something for school stuff and he enjoyed it and wants to spend more time with it (playing, investigating, etc.) I'm not about to put it away! So sometimes those things kind of pile up.

Getting organized is a life long task. As our needs change so do our organizing needs. I think your little elves would love helping you. Flylady has a counterpart I think she is called the Housefairy and she is great! You can play music, like in musical chairs, and when the music stops, everyone switches chores. My kids loved helping me clean ( at least until they turned 12 and it wasn't fun any longer- LOL) I was a flybaby for a long time before fancy website. But I have to tell you, I worked at least 60 hours a week, raised the kids and still had a house that was always 15 minutes away from company, all thanks to Flylady. Now I am retired and it isn't clean, nor am I as organized. You inspire me to get back on that train!

I am redoing our pantry at the moment ( thanks to Pinterest ideas), and once that little project is completed, I will tackle the kitchen and laundry room. And I am going to count it as EXERCISE!!

Sorry you had the anxiety attack, like you say, just a bubble in the road. Deep breathes and happy thoughts. OK- lock yourself in the bathroom and scream- LOL Whatever works.

    Hugs !

Remember, an organized home keeps the over-whelming feeling at bay. Keep up the good work and make your home mirror the spirit you are. BEAUTIFUL!

Good luck with the freezer - mine gets that way too! Last weekend I found a huge ham - with the leg bone in it - I didn't even remember putting it in there. Checked the date and less than a year, so I cooked it up. It was great! I hope that you find a "treasure" too!
