Lesson learned

Friday, January 22, 2016

At work I usually get out of the office at lunch by myself (or I may hit someone) emoticon and get a Wendy's grilled chicken salad most days. Yesterday I forgot to say grilled and ended up with a crispy chicken instead. I went through the drive thru and didn't realize it until I was ready to eat. I didn't have time to go back so I decided to eat it as I was very hungry. emoticon and it was greasy and I didn't enjoy it at all.

When I got home from work, hubby had made processed frozen fish sticky things for dinner along with a baked potato and a delicious salad. Against my better judgement I ate two fish thingys which didn't taste too bad. About 2 hours later heartburn and nausea set in. I had to take antacids to try and settle my stomach which did no good at all.

I have only been back at Sparkpeople for almost 2 weeks now and in those two weeks my eating has been extremely healthy, no junk.. So yesterday's food experience just reinforced my determination to eat healthy and nutritiously!

So in the end I guess I'm glad I had that experience because it just reminded me how I used to feel all the time and I do not want to continue to live my life that way. I want to be healthy and happy cuz this is the only life I've got and I want to live it to the fullest, not be sitting on the sidelines watching everyone else.

I am wondering how the past few days have been since you made this post? I can relate to the not feeling well when I eat things that are fried. I don't always make the best choices, but when I do the rewards are amazing! Wishing you well as you continue your journey!

Hmmm this post makes me realize how many fewer tummy issues I've had since going back on on SP. I did not eat fried foods before, but I definitely ate fewer whole foods and less water!

Amazing how the body rebels when it has had a chance to eat real food and then you eat something inferior.

It's amazing how much those bad foods cause discomfort.
Glad that you are staying on track!
