Restarting Again

Sunday, January 17, 2016

Wow, I didn't realize I hadn't blogged since 2013. I have had a revision of my total knee replacement since then, also am having increasing pain in my left knee. I don't want to go to the doctor just yet because I am not ready for my next knee replacement, however, it has cut down my walking.
Unfortunately, I did very well keeping my weight down, however the last few months my weight has crept up and it is time for me to step back up to the plate. I have been recording my food intake but not really reducing it as I have in the past. I know what I need to do and it is time to restart my healthy living plan.
I have reset my goals. I have taken a few days to rethink what I want to do and now it is time to do it. This is going to be the first day of my new plan and I will succeed. I will watch what I am eating and stay within my calorie range, I am going to work hard to walk at least 10,000 steps daily, and go to physical therapy where I do strength exercises twice weekly. I know doing these three things, I should be able to lose the 26 lbs I have managed to gain.

emoticon ...and congratulations on all the weight you've lost! I'm sorry to hear you needed a revision of your TKR - what a setback to have to face... But you sound like you're in good spirits and have terrific determination! My knees are fine, but my right hip was replaced in November of '14. You've definitely got the right idea: PT and your plan to work hard on increasing your walking will really speed the healing process. Despite having a twisted pelvis, the 1+ year of exercise I've put in has helped enormously. All the best for a healthy 2016! - Mary
