Sticking with it

Thursday, June 14, 2007

My weight loss has been nothing like I anticipated here lately. I've been exercising more and eating better, but the scale just isn't cooperating. I switched to morning exercise. Hopefully, that will make a difference. I know I'm not supposed to compare myself to others, but my weight just doesn't seem to come off as fast as others. I have slacked on the resistance training. Perhaps that's a factor. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Hey There AMETHYSTSPR93!

I am from Houston, TX, and I totally understand how you feel. My only thought is either you are at a plateau in your weightloss, and your body is just getting used to your exercising habbits, or you could be losing inches and gaining muscle! If I were you, I would start measuring myself. Measure the inches of different places on your body, i.e. legs, arms, waist, etc. If you find out that you are losing inches, your are more than likely gaining muscle as well. And since muscle weighs more than fat, that may be what's happening to your weightloss. Also, if you are at a plateau, just change up your exercises. Instead of jogging one day, do the ellipticals or pilates or the bike. Once you switch it up, eventually the plateau will be broken. Best wishes to you on your weightloss journey!
