Life happens (even when you don't want it to)

Tuesday, January 12, 2016

Well I've turn 65 this last December - not good - not bad - it is what it is - there are worse things that can happen lol.

On turning 65 - Medicare and trying to maneuver through that system is hazardous to say the least - I'm trying to get something adjusted so I called Medicare since that's where I received my notification from - they said "nope not us - call Social Security" - called Social Security "nope not us - call your insurance" - called my insurance "nope not us - call Social Security" - that was last week. Yesterday (Monday) I went IN to my local SS office (that is a whole world in itself lol) - talked to 2 (yes 2) people - "nope not us - call Medicare" - called Medicare back and actually got someone with 2 brain cells that connected - they took my information and said they are forwarding it to a conflict resolution team and they will call me back Wednesday or Thursday (ok........well we'll see)

On my health - I love to walk - that being said I've had a joint flareup in my hip for the last 8 years that's really limited me - sometimes I can push through it - most times I end up hobbling so my walking has been limited. That being said over the last 2 weeks there has been no pain so I have been able to put in a couple of outings around where I live. Some days tho it flares back up so I can't but when I can I do.

More on my health - last May I went to my doctor for my yearly exam - I'm fortunate that I only need to see him once a year - maybe a couple of times if I come down with something but I usually just let those run their course. Well I'd had a issue with my collar bone the previous summer. It seems to ache and swell (my terminology) but it wasn't a soft swelling - anywho - my doctor did a blood test and it seems I've got the markers of RA which he said that what was going on with my collar bone and most likely my hip (the blessings of getting older lol) So far I've not gone to see a specialist because I've not noticed anything else going on and my collar bone has not gotten any worse and I'm sure since my hip has quit hurting something else will pop up. Oh I do have a knot on a knuckle but it hasn't impaired anything.

Sleep - I sleep good!

Eating - I'm trying to get into the habit of making these (what they call) salad in a jar meals - I'm really liking them and altho they don't look it they are very very filling. I find all my recipes for them on Pinterest.

The bad - well the only bad thing is this morning I discovered a leak in the bathroom - the exercise for the day will be picking up and laying down paper towels - a lot - until I can get this fixed (hopefully tonight) costing me money I really can't afford to spend (I'm waiting for the "things always happen in 3s) now.

Oh well - enough - hope anyone who reads this has a great day!!
