Resolutions

So I resolved last August to exercise more and eat better, so that was not one of my New Year's resolutions, as I am slowly getting better at doing that. I started two of my resolutions today, though. First, I walked for 35 minutes on the treadmill at an incline, which was my resolution to challenge myself more when walking or when on the treadmill. My goal is to be able to run, so I need to up my speed and push myself more. My second goal that I started today is to do the rowing machine at the gym 2 times per week. I did it today, after asking for help on how to do it, and boy is my back sore! Not in a bad way, but in a good, I-used-my-muscles way. I'm sad that for the 15 minutes that I did it that I only burned 15 calories according to the machine, but at least I tried it. I will do it again probably Friday. My back needs a day off! I did some Spark People stretches on my back when I came home, so it's a little better.

So here's to realistic resolutions! It's pouring buckets here, so I won't get outside to walk to reach my 10,000 steps today. I was going to walk down to the Starbucks on the corner for an herbal tea and to work on my homework, but I think I'd just get drenched walking down there. So I think I'll stay inside and make my own tea and do my homework here.
