Ooh looky. Two days in a row.

Tuesday, January 05, 2016

So, two days into tracking everything I eat, and I discover that my food choices are all out of whack. OK, honestly that really wasn't much of a surprise. Even without tracking, I know pretty much what I eat. I met my calorie goal, but that's not the whole story, of course. I'm not ready to share details here, but let's say that fat, cholesterol and salt were all to high and the healthy stuff was a bit on the low side. I may just have to be a bit more pro-active in helping DW with her menu planning.

Sleep was awful. Two nights in a row, I just tossed and turned. I reminded me a lot of when I suffered from sleep apnea. I'm not ready to schedule another sleep study, but I have a follow-up appointment with my doctor from my last physical in about a month. We may have to talk about it then, if I'm still having trouble.

I think my scale is demon possessed. It showed that I lost 5 pounds in one day. Not even happening. That's way too much of a swing, even for someone my size. Fortunately for me, the only day that counts is Monday, so I'll keep an eye out and see what it says next Monday. I expect to be back up a bit tomorrow.

Now none of this is complaining. It's just observing. If I can't see what's happening, I can't make adjustments. I was way short on the steps today, but I'm just so tired from lack of sleep. Time to try again.

Oh, completely off topic. I have a job interview Monday. It's actually for a transfer. Same job. Different district office. Turns out I was the only applicant. I still have to interview, but I had a chat with the supervisor today, and he's treating it like a formality. If I treat it like a serious interview, we should finish quickly, and I should be transferred in a few weeks. It'll cut over 50 miles per day off of my commute.

Shine brightly Sparkers. Someone needs you today.

50 miles per day translates to pounds -

sitting behind the wheel is the enemy!

sitting in front of a screen is the enemy too!

starting new is the key! Fail forward !!!!

Hey take over the menu and prep the stuff that is good for you!
