Why is it so hard to find a place to move to?

All I want to do is find a reasonable place to live that is close to where my step-kids go to school and closer to where my husband works (he currently drives over 3.5 hours a day round trip)... you wouldn't think that would be too much to ask! Everything I can find is either way more expensive than we can afford, or in a neighborhood that I wouldn't feel safe walking alone in, much less allowing the kids out to play! We need to move soon though, the commute is really wearing on hubby, especially now that he's on 2nd shift and having to drive home at midnight. Maybe I should start looking further from the kids and closer to his work :-/

    my goodness I wish there was an easy solution here! but maybe there is something closer to his work that you would actually enjoy! I read an article the other day about intentions but not making it too specific. let me explain, your intention is to move closer but you are shutting yourself out to other places because you are focused on only one area. So focus on finding something closer in general and see what you find! wishing you the best!!!!!!!

    We are in a similar situation. Do you have children living at home? If you don't, lots of couples are choosing to live in an RV for low cost housing expenses. And they can travel so easily too. We have too big a family to consider it.
