Post Holiday Update - Happy New Year!
Monday, January 04, 2016
Hi everyone! I am still hanging around, just been too busy to get on here much.
First and foremost, how was everyone's holiday season? Filled with lots of love and family I hope! I had a great holiday season, a nice mini-vacation with the hubs, and now I'm ready to get back to real life again!
I have managed to totally go off the deep-end. I've got a lot of recovery to do. After ordering my orthodics I never got back to working out... And my eating seriously slipped. But I'm back to it now.
Tonight I am going to try to do something that previously pissed my feet off to test my orthotics. I've done plenty of walking in them and my feet are used to them, I just want to see if they help where I really need them to. I'm thinking jump rope and/or a little bit of jogging on the treadmill. It won't be a long workout today but will be enough to know if I've got a solution to the problem. This will shape the rest of my workout plan.
I am once again going to try to achieve my goals this month based on the total # of minutes/times I want to do something. Here are my goals this month:
Cardio Minutes: 400
30 Day Shred: 12 times
Plank seconds: 1500
Classes at YMCA: 10 classes
Stretching Minutes: 140
Green smoothies consumed: 10
These are very doable numbers. Cardio minutes do not include classes or 30DS. I am also going to try to get the diet cleaned up. The hubs and I bought a 10lb bag of chicken breast and he cooked all of it on our new Traeger. It is amazing! And he did a big batch of wild rice. We will freeze all of it up and live on that and meals that we already froze up and had hanging out in the freezer. This will save us a bunch of money and keep us on track if that is all we eat for dinners this month. I want to track every day and will be much more successful if I'm not eating out. That being said, I go out to lunch with my mom every week and I've got a plan for that too.
My husband and I have agreed that we just need one really tough year where we buckle down, don't spend a lot of money, work hard on losing weight, and behave overall. If we spend these next 12 months really focusing on health and finances we will be in a much better place come 2017. The two things go hand in hand for us as well. We blow our diets by going out to eat all the time and it also costs a lot! If we eat our chicken and rice all month we could possibly go all month with just spending $50 or so on dinners for 2! We spend that much on lunch when we go out!
Anyway, this has become a really long blog and I need to get to catching up on all of your blogs! I hope everyone is off to a great start this year!
