Did I say "change"?

Monday, January 04, 2016

Remember how quickly the holidays came or how fast it was August when it seemed the summer had just started? That's how quickly life has changed around here. My health continues to hold steady - well. sorta' - the warfarin suddenly was too strong and all the warning flags went up - I missed a NYEve party because as a result of the mismedication I had two very bloodshot eyes . I didn't want to go to meet some new neighbors looking like Happy Halloween!
The move to a smaller place turned out to be unreasonably expensive and I decided to stay in the house - condo - I owned - but the sorting and clearing out of stuff others could use continues!
AND when I realized that my blog doesn't have to be about food - I wanted to stay right here. The food thing - I still love reading cookbooks, but the fun goes out of it a little when I'm only feeding myself an the cats now and often prefer directions for smaller meals - loving the "cup" recipes and the one pan ones often are easy to make smaller. As you can imagine I have a load of kitchen stuff to give away, In addition to the too packed recipes, getting around the kitchen in a wheelchair is hard some days. Too bad you don't live close by and I could say "You all come and take what you want!"
So thank you again for all your kindnesses - you provided some of the strength I needed to make a decision. Hope you are well and the New Year is being good to you. Cherish the moments when all is peaceful and the pain quiets - those moments are blessings.
Love and prayers for you all. Meri

I was so glad to see your blog. I wonder about you often. I wish I lived close too. I would go through and haul everything home. I've been working at getting rid of things for the last year and lately it seems I'm bring in more than I'm getting rid of. I have to start getting rid of things instead of looking for people like you who is getting rid of clutter. I like the group for getting rid of clutter and need to start getting back to it. Have a wonderful New Years and so happy to see you here. emoticon

I hope you will be able to stay in your own home, and continue to clean out the clutter. That is what I have been doing too.

Yes SP does have some great recipes, I made the turkey meatloaf tonight, yum.

Happy Healthy SPARK New Year to you.

Meri; emoticon I have missed seeing your blogs and status updates. Was so glad to see your blog this morning. Glad to see you are well and in your home still. I hope you will be able to stay there. You are so right it is terribly expensive to downsize or go to assisted living. Making more room, and living adjustments in your home is what I would go for. It is hard to cook for just one and the animals. Sometimes I find myself not eating as healthy. You are right about Spark people having some good recipes. Have a great day. Pat
