Funny factoid about my past few weeks.

Chlorine kills.
It sanitizes the pool. Keeps the algae at bay. It has an effect on bathing suits.
I noticed the bright blues disappear on my peacock tail design. The black spots fade to gray.

I was in the whirlpool, relaxing after I had exited the nearly deserted pool. A swimming instructor knelt down and said "Time to get a new swimsuit."
I thought she was referring to the fading colors and I agreed, stating that fact.
"No", she said, trying not to laugh. "It's become see-through".
Awesome.

I walked out of there with my head held high and my back against the wall.
I showed DH who said I could have given a speech through the suit!!!!!!!!

I have 2 new, chlorine resistant suits.

Yes. see through bathing suits. I started wearing a pair of black bathing suit bottoms under my favorite suit before I got a new one. H2O suits never seem to get see through. I get sick of them before they wear out.

Ha! Ha! You gave me some great laughs. All you can do is hold your head high and get to the dressing room. Ya know what-- if I see someone in this position--I will wait till they are already in the dressing room to inform them. It is much kinder! chris

I try to warn the ladies whenever I see this at the water fitness classes I go to. It usually shows up in the back. All have been grateful except one. As I do this very quietly I was puzzled, but then decided she was embarrassed and that was her way of handling it. She was also the same one that acted like I was doing something wrong when my grandson was still tiny and young enough to bring to the pool and change and shower with me in the ladies locker room. The family locker rooms had a way of being full all the time. So perhaps I should have already known she was not a kindly grandmotherly type to begin with and just let her go.

For the love...just another reason I should never put on a bathing suit! Hahaha! You put in enough time in the pool that your suit showed the aftermath?! Ummm, yay yOu! Annnnnd bless that instructor's heart for telling you, a random act of kindness to repay. emoticon

I have worn out about one suit a year since starting to train for triathlons... and I BUY the chlorine resistant ones, and rinse thoroughly. I thought it was the spin dryers at the gym, but no... it's not. It's just they wear out. Worth the investment, in my book! emoticon

I rinse my suit well immediately after the pool. I have been there. emoticon

I've seen that many many times -- even though my own gym has a special "chlorine-removing" swim suit washing machine to help avert just that problem. Pretty much always strikes in the rear where the wearer doesn't see it!!!

Good for you. It was kind of her to let you know. I guess it's an opportunity to treat yourself to something you love.

chlorine can really be bad for many people! My Mom is allergic. emoticon I personally slather coconut oil all over me, about 1/2 hour before going into a public pool or spa... it seems to help!

emoticon emoticon It still shows evidence of all that hard work you are doing. Let them have their embarrassing moment, the goal is worth swimming after. emoticon

ROFLMBO!! OMG! You're a streaker!! I bought a really nice suit once and it was see through brand new. I was not happy. We also purchased my hubby a pair of trunks that were too. It was really shocking to see him come out of the ocean with his junk on display. LOL.

Lol... I had a similar experience, however, the only see through area was the seat of my swim suit. I am anxiously awaiting my new chlorine resistant suit.😉
