Frustrated and Worried

Wednesday, December 16, 2015

This week is my husband's last week of work. He gave notice two weeks ago and since then his boss has made his life a living h$#@. Husband's job is handling hazardous waste and worker's safety around hazardous materials. Boss wanted husband to find a consult company to write up EPA reports and has added other tasks on a daily basis. Husband found a company to interview for the EPA reports and boss canceled the interview. Yesterday, husband was told that if all the tasks weren't done by this Friday (his last day) then the vacation days husband scheduled for the weeks of Christmas and New Year's would be canceled. The ones of Christmas week are for his colonoscopy. Today husband was told that he had to cancel his colonoscopy or be terminated!
I know this is causing much stress on husband, because it is stressing me out. I worry about his paycheck on the 18th not being there, or his final paycheck not being there or the check to pay him for the unused vacation days not being there.
We will get through this but I am stressed and worried.
This should be a happy time and it isn't!

Not much of a boss. Way too demanding! Does he do this to all his workers? Please let go and let God. He will certainly bless you with all you need, if you just have faith.

I'm so sorry for all he is going through. It sounds as though he works for a very ungrateful boss. Is it even legal to be able to do all of the things he is threatening? I would be glad he's getting out of that job and if the boss does follow through, I would definitely check w/ your state's office that regulates labor practices.
Hope it all works out for the best & that you have a nice Christmas. xxxxx

Wow, what a jerk. You'd think his boss would be thankful for what he's done for the company and send him off on good terms. You'll get through it, but I'm sorry it's the boss is making life so unpleasant right now.

He sounds horrid but taking earned pay is illegal. Personally I'd give myself a Christmas present and leave as planned !!! Hope that can be done.

It's illegal to take his vacation. He worked the prior year for that. I hate employer's like this. Get a lawyer.

They tried similar things on my last job. Not nice people he has to deal with. All the best.

Major HR violation in my opinion. Don't let them get away with treating him this way. Don't be stressed or afraid. Stand up and be empowered

This sounds like something he needs to report to HR. I hope you and your husband can get through the whole mess with something positive.
