Still streaking on a blustery day

Thursday, December 10, 2015

Our power went out last night around midnight . . . lots of high wind, thunder, lightning, rain and hail.

Poor Leroy was terrified of the noise and kept waking us up to get under the blanket, then wanted out again, then back under again. . . . you get the picture.

Thankful for our generator and extension cords. We had running water and power to the refrig. For breakfast DH brought out the George Foreman grill and electric skillet and had our usual breakfast..... except there's just something special about breakfast by candlelight and being safe and warm inside with the storm raging outside.

But it was a wonderful day. Without the pull /distraction from the internet, it was very nice to be able to sit and reflect on things.... so much has happened lately, and it was nice to catch up with myself.

However, I was a bit bummed that I might have to break my 168 day log-in streak, but the power came back on a bit ago. . . so despite Father God and Mother Nature . . the streak remains intact!

But, the storm is not over yet . . . there's more stormy weather on its way. Still having settings records for high winds and huge waves along the coast.

Another holiday chuckle

Poor Leroy, glad all is better today. Good to have that generator. We have had quote a few candlelight dinners too, really is peaceful. We are also having thunderstorms today, so far everything is going well. emoticon

Hugs to you for your cozy candlelight romantic! Poor little Leroy...our fur babies just don't understand the booms and gusts outside. Thankfully he had you to comfort him. I don't like storms much either...especially hurricanes. We have been SO lucky the last few years here in FL...the last serious hurricane was Charlie and that scared the BEJABBERS out of me. I would have been like Leroy in and out from under the blanket! emoticon

I am glad your streak made it through the storm! It seems such a little thing, but it made a big difference to me that my wife signed in for me on the days I was traveling this year and had no wifi to check in.

Poor little snowman! Off with his nose! The blow dryer is priceless, and sometimes I'm just amazed at how clever these cartoons can be.

Glad you were safe in the storm and that you had a day of reflection. I've tried to keep from being distracted by the Internet today, too. I'm thankful your power came back on and hope that it stays on during the night.

    Stay safe!

emoticon So Glad that you had a Generator!! There is something very Nice a out your Candlelight Breakfast! Maybe you'll have to do that regularly?
emoticon Well had No Electricity and No Generator for four days last week. As i told the Vet, I wasn't too worried about the Humans -- We could go to work, the gym, and the Restaurant to get warm and charge our Phones, Tablets, etc. The one I was worried about was our Silly Turtle. I didn't know if taking him out in the COLD AIR TO get him to a warmer place would be better or worse than leaving him in his Cold Aquarium. Turns out, he stayed in the Tank and seems to have survived without any Ill Effects
