My Absolutes (because i'm a sugar addict)

Thursday, December 10, 2015

This goes with my goals as I am practicing coming up with game plans for different situations. I was reading an article about Will Power and it lead me to thoughts about what I will absolutely not give up. Dark chocolate being at the top of that list. #2 would be my coffee creamer International Delight white chocolate raspberry. I don't dare look at the nutritional values on it, because it just tastes so bad for me. I know eventually I will give it up. I struggle with the coffee anyways(still a big trigger for me, to want to smoke.)
#3 would a real bad one, but it will be a work in progress, is Sweat tea. Although I don't have it on a daily basis, it is something I am not willing to give up just yet.#4 would be a once in awhile(like once a month) a juicy cheese burger and onion rings from Cheeseburger Bobbies. Because for the most part in our daily lives we have given up red meat.
Over the years I have given up a lot of bad foods. Soda and cake products I still have trouble with. And when I give in to the craving, I feel guilty or I say I didn't really miss that... So yes I am a sugar addict. Whew, I finally admitted that! So this is why I needed to come up with a list of absolutes! Oh forgot another biggie that I struggle with on a daily basis and that would be ice cream! But that can not be an absolute unless I find something that fits in my healthy criteria. I just haven't researched it yet. So I'm open to suggestions.

You've probably thought of it, but would herbal tea (hot or cold) be an option to replace the creamered coffee and the sweet tea? Some of them can be really yummy!
I wish you the best, as a fellow sugar addict. emoticon

Dark Chocolate is actually very good for you - if you can give yourself permission to have just one small piece. I'm fortunate that I only like my coffee black, although I do like flavored coffee. You might want to give that a try. Door County Coffee has one flavored Raspberry Crunch - it's very good.

For myself, as soon as I eliminate something from my approved list - that's the very thing I can't live without. My absolute can't-give-it-up thing is the barbequed ribs, French fries and Cole slaw that from Serum's, a little bar close to us. My husband and I share one meal and we often have some left over to take home. It used to be once or twice a month, but now it's only about once a quarter.

Anyway - good luck to you. I think you look pretty good!

Yes I'm in that challenge right now. So I really need to step up my focus in this area. All the exercise in the world is going to help, until I get real about my sugar addiction. It's harder then the nicotine, I think.

I like my sweets too, so I can relate. Have your tried the 21 day curb your sweet tooth? I find now I am eating healthy in maintenance mode I don't have that many cravings.
