Amping up my routine

Thursday, December 10, 2015

Aaarrgghh! I'm shrinking! Gosh darn it anyhow! Ya know, I'm short enough, I don't need to be shorter. Next thing you know, I'll be the same height as my grandson. (he's 1 1/2 yrs). I already know I have bad arthritis that can make it very hard to move, painful if it stand or walk too much. The exercises help me keep moving. Some joints are disfiguring already. But I just keep them moving as much as possible. Exercising with Jessica Smith is giving me mobility & I can get my aerobics in with low impact. She shows 3 levels. My doctor doesn't want me doing high impact as it may cause more damage later. I started my adult life at 5'1 3/4". I had my husband measure me the other day, because I couldn't believe I was 4'10" when they measured me...4'9 1/2". Omgosh! Really!?! Ok, time to amp up my routine. So now I need to adjust my diet to make sure I'm including the right foods to help me prevent additional bone loss as well as bone density building exercises. Good thing I joined the gym a couple months ago. That at least started me on the path to a stronger me. I'm also happy to announce that I have dropped another pound, woo hoo. Every pound lost is a celebration. I love that sparkpeople has so much info on osteoporosis & osteopenia & arthritis. I refuse to let any of this to get in my way & stop me & my life. Here's to a stronger, better me!

Thanks schnootie. Jessica also has bad knee & ankle exercises, even shoulders. Try her out. When I'm feeling stiff, she loosens me up to where I can feel better. I'll do routines periodically throughout the day if/when I stiffen up.

You are a true inspiration. Horrible knees here, and creaky all over. Movement will make a huge difference! Good luck on standing tall!
