Whoa, What a Roller Coaster Ride! LOL

Monday, December 07, 2015

Bill just saw his cardiologist last Friday, and Teresa tells me that his doctors are all shaking their heads. They can't figure it out but his heart is HEALING ITSELF and they may not have to do anything! I guess time will tell... but we know the power of prayer and blessings are real.

Meanwhile, Licorice has been giving me some real heartache lately. He almost died two weeks ago, cystitis or bladder crystals according to the vet I took him to. I "borrowed" all but $5 from the last of my IRA, but it wasn't enough for more than just the exam and a couple of days' worth of prescription cat food. I took him home and went online. Raw organic apple cider vinegar kept him going... and then another little blessing.

Ever since January, my van has had a check engine light on. Diagnostics (expensive!) said it was the catalytic converter. I bought the part, and Bill was going to put it in. But he torn his rotator cuff. Then he had kidney stones (something in the environment?! LOL) and had to have surgery. Then he had the heart attack. So, someone in my new ward at church anonymously offered to pay for a mechanic to install the part! But when they called, the van wouldn't start so I could get it there. I got in touch with another member of my church and he and his partner came and jump started the van. I managed to get to the auto shop before it died--right in the driveway entrance!

The mechanic hooked it up to a battery charger, and ran a few simple tests--and he said the catalytic converter would have been making a horrible racket if it were bad, and there was no sign of that, but my alternator was toast. So that was replaced instead, and while he worked on it, one of the bishopric took me to the auto parts store and I got a refund on the catalytic converter--and used the money to fill my gas tank, so I could go and get Licorice a few of the most crucial items the vet had recommended: a medication that helps dissolve crystals, an antibiotic, and a case of the prescription cat food, which prevents them from forming.

He's holding his own for now...

...and I'm back at square one! LOL

I'm still having trouble sleeping... the new APAP, a different brand from before and with its higher settings, now resides beside my bed, but we're locked into a feud over various different functions so I'm still suffering side effects from lack of sleep... My glucose levels can't seem to decide quite what to do, and I'm having to see my nephrologist a little more often because it is showing up in my kidney functions too. In fact, I have an appointment this morning again. *sigh"

I like her, so at least it isn't unpleasant. And I've stopped gaining back the few pounds I lost...LOL

I'm so pleased that some of my friends are doing so well... check it out, there's a lovely interview here with Justyna7... she's AMAZING, and I'm glad she's my friend! I'm so proud of her...

Thanks again for all the lovely prayers and good wishes, dear friends!

That is great news about Bill!! I hope he continues to improve!!

I sure hope the Licorice will be okay. He certainly need to drink plenty. My cat liked ice cubes and maybe they would help Licorice drink more.

If you go to Autozone sometimes they can diagnosis your problem for free.

Bless the person who donated the money to fix the van and ended up helping Licorice too in the mix.

I hope you start feeling better soon! I know I need my sleep. emoticon
