"Commit to Commitment" ~ that is a phrase I heard on an episode of Fraiser, when Fraiser was wondering why he always broke up with that someone who was a good match for him. His brother suggested that it was because he was afraid to commit to commitment.
That is how I feel with my struggle in taming the sweet tooth, I have not fully committed to making the decision to do it 100%. I have not committed to commitment. This makes it too easy to give into temptations, especially when I have not made the decision to just say "no".
My grandson was telling me how he ate his vegetables first during his lunch at school because I had told him that vegetables were good for him. Then he was asking if an orange was healthy because he wants to eat the healthy items in his lunch first. Now, there is commitment for a 6 year old. I should mention that he did not eat the chocolate bars in his lunch that my daughter packed for him.
He has more wisdom that me sometimes. He has food dye sensitivities and therefore, cannot eat a lot of the processed foods, and I do not buy a lot of items with food dyes because I do not want him to accidentally eat them . It is amazing at how many products I do not buy.
Now, I need apply that commitment to not buying and eating sugary products. I need to commit to commitment. IOW ~ I need to be committed
