Still Eating Homegrown Veggies

Saturday, December 05, 2015

Just picked a couple of nice zucchini and brought in a half dozen tomatoes from the greenhouse to go in my mesclun greens for a salad. After the brutal spring and summer we had, plus the last month's rains I cannot believe we still have crops. We should likely get 4-5 more zucchini before we have another freeze. There are another dozen tomatoes in the greenhouse and the green onions and lettuce should last until we get a withering freeze-maybe another month. Wow! And with veggie prices what they are in the store, that is a good thing.

Beyond that, not much to tell from this corner of the world. Except that all my Christmas shopping is finished. Now if I can find it all to get it wrapped.

Lynn, I'm amazed that you have fresh veggies to eat!! But, isn't that just the greatest? We are having zucchini tonight, but I had to buy it, so it won't be as good as yours was, I'm sure. Good for you on getting your shopping done! emoticon

Suffering from a little vegetable envy here - I won't see our ground again until about April!
