She's Gone...

Wednesday, December 02, 2015

What i/we had hoped wouldn't have to happen did in fact. My girl (Lady), my precious cocker had to be put down. My heart is broken but her quality of life would have been extremely poor if any other decision had been made.
Thank you, everyone, for your kind words and support!

R.I.P. Lady. Love you. emoticon emoticon

We are looking at a similar decision soon, and don't know how to make it. we have 2 dogs, 14 and 16 years old, both on arthritis medicine, who can hardly walk around. They eat little. They still like to find a patch of sun to lie in, but otherwise don't move much. One has lost a back leg, and her single leg can barely hold her up anymore. They don't cry or whine. How do you know when it is time?

My heart is broken too.. I know how it feels to let them go.. Our dear Pooky Bear was a rescue,,she was 15 1/2 when we had to do the same thing. It is our responsibility as a parent to make sure they are taken care of and this last tender caring is the most painful of all. I send you both big hugs from my heart...

I am so sorry.. Please know I do Understand too well... Here is a little poem that may make your day a little easier..
    Rainbow Bridge Poem
There is a bridge connecting heaven and earth. It is called Rainbow Bridge because of its many colours.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills, valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies , the pet goes to this special place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. The old and frail are young again. Those who are maimed are made whole again. They play all day with each other. There is only one thing missing.
They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth.
So each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up !
    The nose twitches !
    The ears are up !
    The eyes are staring !
And this one suddenly runs from the group !
You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her into your arms and embrace.
Your face is kissed again and again, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated
Praying for you ... In His Love and Grace Just Me emoticon
