I did really great yesterday... till DH got KFC. I am regretting eating any of it. It made me feel awful, and I'll remember that feeling next time he comes home with it. It may smell and taste wonderful, but it is not so wonderful to my body, or my calorie count. Yes, I put it all in the nutrition tracker, and yikes! It was almost a full day's worth of calories on one plate! No more deep fat fried anything! At least I learned that my body does not do well with fried foods any more!
Seems like I've been learning a lot of lessons lately. But they are all lessons I need to learn for this healthy eating lifestyle I'm on. I ate tuna, green beans and broccoli (no cheese, just a touch of salt) for lunch yesterday and was stuffed! I think I'll skip the tuna today and just do the greens. I discovered that my oldest DD loves broccoli (with cheese) and will eat all of it if I'm not watching her.
My kids have changes tastebuds on me! Youngest DD used to love anything if I said it was healthy but of late wants nothing but candy. Oldest would only eat not so good for you stuff (shells and cheese, pizza...), but now is all about healthy foods and loving it. I'm glad for the change in oldest DD, but not so happy with youngest DD. Youngest DD asks for candy at least 10 times a day and sulks when she does not get it. This is my girl who used to love carrots and hummus. I don't let her have candy but once a day, but I'm thinking that is too much, maybe once a week? Either way I'm tossing what is left of the Halloween candy and hiding DH's chocolates.
Going grocery shopping today for more veggies. Even if they are canned or frozen, they are still better for me! I love my little store I go to, and they have a nice produce area, but have switched to a lot of pre-packaged veggies instead of the whole veggie. Maybe I looked in the wrong place. We'll find out this morning.
I love carrots and hummus as a snack, add grape tomatoes and what a yummy snack! But eventually I will get tired of that as a snack, so I need another 'go to' snack item. Ah, could be yogurt and granola, or fresh fruits. Maybe some fruit on the bottom yogurts? I could freeze the all but one and get a new one out every time I eat the one in the fridge, so it will stay fresh. Sounds good to me!!
About to go work out, yesterday was good, I did a little over 30 minutes of the workout DVD. There were a few times I had to march in place or let my arms hang at my sides because it was too much for me, but I hung in there! I'd only in place a few seconds then jump back in. I'm going to stick with this DVD for a week and next week get a new one out. I didn't do the Boot Camp video, but it required you to have an open wall space to prop up against, and I don't have that. I did it last week by moving stuff out of the way, but didn't feel up to it this week. I'm thinking maybe the boot camp videos plus what I'm doing may be too much?
I only got a little over 4k steps yesterday. I realized that I was getting half of my steps from my workout, doing step aerobics. I'd get like 3 or 4k steps, then I'd get close to 8k steps for the whole day. The video's I do you do a lot of just holding your arms out, not swinging them, so not so many steps from my workout. I even did 10 minutes worth of step aerobics yesterday, so almost a thousand steps. I need to get up off my bum and move! More steps!
Just a quick smile for today
