The benefits of exercise that we don't even think of

Wednesday, November 18, 2015

When we think about exercise we automatically think about strength increase, weight loss, calories burned....YADA, YADA, YADA.....

There are other things that we don't even realize are occurring.

And here it is...

1. When you exercise you are being forced to be in the moment.

You may not realize it because your mind may wander here and there but ultimately you have to snap back into the moment because if you don't you will end up falling on your face or dropping that barbell on your foot or much worse, one of your gym buddy's foot. emoticon
By being in the moment all that junk that you have to face for the rest of the day is gone at least for that 60 minutes that you have made FOR YOUR SELF. At least its supposed to be right?

You are taking control of your body.

YES! I SAID YOU ARE TAKING CONTROL OF YOUR BODY! And all this time you thought you had no control. Right?

Think about it...

When you exercise you have to make sure this is aligned with that.

You are making the correct movements for the specific exercise you are involved in.

You are more focused on your breathing.

When you get done, your sense of accomplishment is THROUGH THE ROOF!

You have a smile of your face that is almost annoying to most. emoticon

Yes of course those awful self loathing feelings of the dreaded distorted body images that we have for ourselves are not completely gone and they will come back DARN IT! IF we don't take the steps to get help for it.

The next time you exercise try and think about this blog entry. The things I have mentioned here take zero effort. They will come naturally if you try.

Why is it so hard to actually get up and move? All my life I had this problem. I was not blessed with an abundance of energy even as a youngster!

Thanks for sharing that. I like your idea of being in the moment, plus I like the idea of me making time for me. We don't do that often enough, because life gets in the way.
