Painting, Eating, Power of

Wednesday, November 11, 2015

For the past few days, hubby and I were finding new ways to procrastinate getting the guest room ready for my sister to arrive on Monday from Germany. She will be staying for two weeks, and I actually have the time off (except for Black Friday, my boss didn't have enough people on for that day). So today was painting day. I picked a nice greenish color and got sweating painting. Come to find out, it actually can count as a workout, so that's what I did. And then I got hungry. Really, really REALLY hungry. I tracked my food, pre-tracked my snack, had "elevensies" and just didn't get enough. I figured, my body is trying to tell me something. Not feeding me is just not an option, I made myself a huge pot of ginger and chamomile tea, which went down easy and then I got hungrier. I felt like the Killer Plant from Little Shop of Horrors. "FEEEEED MEEEE". I took a long hard look at my food tracker, and decided, okay, if I just can't get enough, I will just make myself a huge portion of something healthy and eat it, so I will finally be quiet and content (think happy baby..... burp). So two cups of frozen spinach, a small can of diced no salt tomatoes, a cup of vegetable broth, a sprinkle of feta cheese, a tablespoon of whipped philadelphia cream cheese, some hot and spicy african spice mix and a cup of precooked whole wheat pasta. I ate to my heart's content and was actually full. After talking to my friend on the phone for a while, brought my dishes to the kitchen, where I passed by my Deck of Cards I keep there, in case I have a few minutes for a workout. I just posted a cardio option on my fridge.... so the "just do it" phrase from this morning popped into my head, and I grabbed the deck of cards, and followed the key. Hearts - Knee Raises, Diamonds - ChaChaCha, Spades - Front/Back Kicks, Clubs - Side Steps. I did almost the whole deck of cards within 10 minutes. So that's my story. It was a really weird day today, but I added plenty of exercise minutes, ate healthy (although like a horse) and got the guest room painted. I call this a success, right?

When you work like a horse, you have to eat like a horse! emoticon

Good for you getting all that painting done in one day! Going up and down the ladder, arm extensions, - yes you definitely got your exercise in for the day. Apparently your body really needed all of the things you put in your last attempt at "feeding it". emoticon

It is success! You were so hungry because you literally worked up your appetite! Glad to hear the room is done! It sounds nice that your sister is visiting! I am thinking with the distance, you prob. don't get to see her so much!
