First Week!

I am so happy to have stumbled upon this site! It has been so helpful to be able to track my food and calories expended. I finally feel like I understand the science behind weight loss and it's no longer guess work and frustration. So many times I have tried (and sometimes suceeded) to lose weight through deprivation, I think I survived the whole summer I was 21 on Iced coffee, cigarettes and gin and tonics. If it hadn't been for the lime I probably would have died of scurvy! Then even after I had wised up a little and started paying attention to my health I had so many bad eating patterns and habits that I was constantly working against myself! Skipping meals and then over-indulging, eating only healthy "safe" foods for long periods and the breaking down and eating tons of chips and cookies. All of this stuff only left me guilty, frustrated and fatter! This time with all of the tools and support available here I know that I will be successful not only in losing weight but in repairing my relationship with food and my body. Being down 5lbs and feeling noticably slimmer in the tummy helps with the motivation as well! I can't wait to see where this new road will take me!
