November walking goal.

I made it a goal to walk 40 miles on my treadmill for the month of November. With my back issues I have not done much exercising, but now that it is feeling better than it did I need to get back into doing something. I love walking so I decided it is a good way to get back into exercising after two months of recovery. In the past I stressed about getting to a certain distance within a set amount of time, but that just isn't realistic for me at the moment. I am not going to throw my back out for a third time in a year over a number! SO I am setting a distance goal, and it doesn't matter to me how slow I walk to reach it, as long as I reach it safely. Today it took me one hour to walk two miles and yanno what? I feel fab about it! If my back started to tweak I'd listen to my body and just slow down even more for a bit. It went awesome and I know I will build endurance again as I continue.
It feels good to be active again. With the holidays coming up I really need to stay focused on my fitness and food choices. I don't want to gain like I tend to do over Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year. It just seems to bleed into one big holiday and I need to behave. lol.
