I do have a tad of SAD (seasonal affective disorder). Actually knowing that is a big help. It means once November hits I need to be aware of the importance of light for me....light from my light box, light on sunny days and connecting to that which lights my heart....friends, family and quiet time. My goals for this month are to use my light box at least 5 times a week, see friends and connect with family every other day and to set aside quiet time for myself each day.

    Something would be awfully wrong if we weren't affected by a lack of light. I have been very interested in light boxes for some time. I have never used one and I don't know what is recommended. How strong is yours? How long do you sit with it on? Are the positive effects accumulative? It's so great that you are aware of the oncoming difficulty and have a concrete plan with which to deal with it. I love your goals. Getting outside into nature, practicing yoga, sleep, fresh food, meditation I'd add for myself. Seeing friends and family is pivotal and, for me, the most difficult one. I wish you a pacific winter.

    It makes sense. Turning the clocks back one hour and having it get dark so early is depressing. I wonder if my Mom has SAD. She complained a lot about turning the clocks back when I was there for 2 nights. She says it is morbid.??????Gotta love her, or else you'd kill her.
