New / Old: It's All Good!

Enough slacking! A "hills" ride with the bike club over the past weekend had me *GASP* WALKING up a hill on a climb for the first time since like forever! It was a new hill for me, so I don't know if it was one I would've climbed successfully in the past. But it was a 5-bell-alarm that I was overdue to get back to the fitness center for some regular, full-fledged workouts...just like the "old" days. Oof! Has it kicked my butt! The soreness I've been having since has been a sweet reward. Ah...now THAT feels better! :-)
New Business: Hosting our local bike club's Board of Director's meeting at my home. Had a humongous pot 'o veggie chili ready (black beans, pinto beans, kidney beans, onions, garlic, tomatoes and cauliflower...yum!) with some shredded cheese and sour cream if anyone wanted to indulge. Bowl of nuts. Tray of broccoli & baby carrots & dip. Pot o' coffee ready. Spare time to chill with some good mood music before folks arrived.
Dilemma with the coffee: someone's gonna want sugar and cream. So I bought those sugar packets. I can resist having them around (I'd feel silly and guilty ripping into sugar packets for my oatmeal...) as opposed to loose sugar which would be too tempting. I don't like the chemicals of that dried powder creamer and don't want to pass that along. So I bought some Half & Half...donated the rest at work today.
9 of us...a tad snug, but it worked! Productive meeting, great catching up with folks! Some brought "contraband" such as chocolate squares, juice and bread: duly donated to the work kitchen today. Even a leftover can of beer. LIGHT beer...yuck. Now if it was a hearty stout I might be tempted...lol! So I'll hang onto the can to pass along should I have company that might be interested.
Life is GOOD!
