Washing 'The Hounds' IS Strength Training!

Tuesday, October 27, 2015

The faux kind! Now, I'm still recovering from 4 surgeries last year, and the BOGO infections I received with those surgeries, so exercise is still a little scattered here & there for me. But I washed the dogs yesterday. With full back bracing supports on so bending was funny. I'm not gonna 'track' it but it WAS strength training because those big boys did NOT want a bath. They haven't had regular baths since I quit walking upright in March 2014. I just couldn't do it. So other people have been giving them baths outside with a hose. You know what they say... "If you want it done right, do it yourself. And if you CAN'T, be grateful that someone else is willing to try." So today I am in bed with the heating pad & TENZ unit & creams & medication... And I am grateful for all of it. And my hellhounds have not looked, nor felt, this good in over a year. And you can see how happy they are! And I'm proud of myself for caring for them like an OCD Mommy, cleaning up after, and cleaning their beds & vacuuming too. (My glutes, hammies & abs are awake today too...and PROUD they could show up!) Peace, Love & Puppy Hugs! Ang

The funky angle of the dog is because he's standing on top of my chest like "King of the Mointain". It's his way of retribution. Hehe

I can only tackle one dog a day. Way too much fighting.
Glad you have happy, clean pups. Feel better!

Oh lovely Ang, it's so good to hear from you again and to see your picture with your one pup anyway. Awww, for the joy of getting them clean. If our 2 dogs need a bath, they end up getting a shower down in our farmhouse basement and they're not too happy either, but better to be clean then dirty, in the house!! Alot of the time, it's just the paws that need it and I can even do that! Oh, I don't do the showers for them. One of the guys does that. I can't handle them with my painful hands and wrists.

I think of you all the time!!

    Love and hugs, Karen
