QUICK UPDATE ON BILL AND TERESA...

Sunday, October 25, 2015

Teresa is over the moon! Bill has been in the recovery center (read nursing home/rehab), and if he continues progressing at the rate he has been, he will be HOME on Wednesday next week! It's been about 60 days since that awful Wednesday... What a miracle!

He still needs bypass surgery, but he's stable enough they are planning on just a stent a bit down the road, to give him time to rebuild his strength first...

Amigo still runs if I'm standing, but he's always done that--unless it was mealtime! LOL

Now, if I'm sitting on the bed, he skitters around the edges of the room, drinks water, climbs on the kitty condo...and he does NOT want me to stand up at meal times, he leaves the food to jump on my lap and keep me sitting on the floor! He does love being petted--and I don't mind much doing it for him, at least until my feet fall asleep! LOL

There are a lot of pets outside, including a few feral cats who seem to be attracted to my back porch (oh, no! LOL) so there is a small problem with fleas here, and the medications these days seem not to last as long as they are supposed to. I'm watching Licorice like a hawk to make sure he doesn't get that dermatitis again. That was nasty. I haven't seen any on him, but he's such a grooming fanatic I never could find any in all that black sleek fur. He's scratching again but it's time to retreat so I'm ready.. . I found a few on Amigo the other day, they're easy to see on that pretty cream colored fur. Isis is a grooming nut too, but she spends as much time grooming Licorice as she does herself! LOL No one but me is grooming Amigo yet, but Isis is interested, she perches next to his crate and just watches... I laughed when I caught Licorice IN the crate with him...laying on top of him like he was a cushion! I had to set him up his own crate in another corner to get him to leave Amigo be. Cute!

My new ward at church is nice. I don't know too many people yet, but it has a more sedate atmosphere than the last...fewer teens and young adults, more young families and retirement aged people. I miss the energy but it's a very sweet group of people. I called one of the leadership to see if I could make arrangements for rides to my doctor appointments because I'd had a few moving expenses I'd forgotten about, and instead of that he filled my gas tank!

Life is good when we try to be good too! LOL

I'm glad all of you out there are on my side! Thanks for all the love and support, and...

...right back at ya!

I am so happy for your friend. I hope her hubby is well enough to have his bypass soon.

I loved the info about the kitties. I am so glad that the other kitties seem to like Amigo and that he is slowly fitting in. I was so worried that you would have to leave him behind when you left the other place. He really loves you and I know you give him a good life.

That church sounds great to me. They helped out when you were in need!

We always fed our dogs garlic to keep the fleas away.. The wild cats can smell yours indoors, thus the curiosity.. You are doing a great job adjusting yourself and the felines to a new environment. You are their security blanket until you get all unpacked again.. Time is the cure..
    Enjoy your new digs!!

That's wonderful that you and the kitties are settling AND you're getting help from your church. That's awesome.
