Well next week we change our time here in OH and many other states. We FALL back and gain an hour. Always sort of miss that Summer time and the longer days and the warm temps. As in all things we move on and prepare for Fall and Winter weather here. So , I am now in the process of moving my summer clothes out and putting in my winter ones and putting all my patio furniture away.
This makes me think of how fast time passes. Soon it is will be Halloween, Thanksgiving and then Christmas and New Years. Time sure flies. I am trying not to waste time and seem to realize now how important it is for me to plan my days. My grandkids are getting a little bigger now, 7-1/2, 7, and 4-1/2. So my daughter's do not need me to help with the kids quite as often. I do babysit but not as much as before. That helps me have more me time.
In the past 13 weeks, I started to make big changes in my daily activity. My wellness and lifestyle doctor was so happy with my progress when I was there this past Tuesday. He said I am doing so well and lost 16.4 pounds since I started the new Mediterranean plan. Exercising 5x a week has become my priority and habit. I mark it on my calendar as a appointment with myself. I deserve it and we all do. It is so much fun to see the results on the scale and know I am getting healthier. What took me SO LONG to get in gear? Well all I think it was-- Was not having the time for me. Now I make the time for me. There are no more excuses, I am completely retired and having fun doing things I enjoy and getting healthier.

Came by to checkout your blog....what a great message of taking time for yourself!!! It is so easy to forget the one person that should matter the most...YOU! I think women/mothers are so used to doing for others they truly forget! And it's very hard to switch gears and put yourself first; a real priority! I love that you actually mark your exercise on your calendar as an appointment! It should be that important and I hope if something comes up you would consider what's more important and if you cancel your time you will reschedule! There nothing like a great Dr visit to confirm you're doing the right thing and and getting the right results! That's awesome! I so agree that our SparkFriends are so special. I'm not at all surprised with your progress, dear friend! You really seem to be so motivated every time I hear from you. I'm sooo very happy for you!! I'm very happy to tell you that the scale is moving down for me too. Not able to say it out loud to everyone, because I never know, from one day to the next. But I do know that I'm making better choices, less carbs, under 200 anyway. I'm really zeroing in on my eating because I'm giving up swimming because of all the pain with getting my swimsuit on and off and everything else before and after. It's also the Winter months coming up too, and that can make it harder to get there. The recumbent bike is iffy too, because of my feet pushing the pedals and the PAIN afterwards. So with walking and shopping and housework and everything else, I'm trying to save my feet. I am doing more exercises that don't hurt my feet and hands and just move my body more. I do jumping jacks without jumping, etc!! And yes, where does all the time go??! The holiday time is the worst time of the year for me because of all the goodies, but I truly vow to watch it all so closely much more. Maybe just watch and not eat, right?!
